Terms of Service
Last updated: May 12, 2026
The short version
- You need to be 18 or older to use Yve.
- You own your inputs and your outputs. We do not train AI models on what you give us.
- You cannot upload real patient information — names, MRNs, dates of birth, or any of the 18 HIPAA identifiers. See our Acceptable Use Policy for the full list and why this matters.
- Yve's answers can be wrong. You are responsible for verifying clinical, medical, legal, or financial content before relying on it.
- Disputes between you and Yve are resolved by binding arbitration, not in court. You can opt out within 30 days of accepting these Terms.
- These Terms are governed by New Jersey law.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Jobos Technologies LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("Yve," "we," "us," "our"). They govern your use of the website at getyve.com and the Yve service (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Yve.
2. Who can use Yve
You must be 18 years old or older to create an account or use Yve. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
You must use the Service for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable law in your jurisdiction. If your use of Yve would be illegal where you are, you cannot use Yve.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account. Keep your password safe and do not share your login. Tell us immediately if you suspect someone else is using your account.
You are responsible for the content you upload and the questions you submit. See the Acceptable Use Policy for what is and is not allowed.
4. Plans and payments
Yve offers a Free tier, a 3-Day Pro Trial, and a paid Pro subscription. Current pricing and plan details are on the pricing page.
The Pro Trial requires a card on file. We charge the card on day 4 unless you cancel before then. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings. Stripe processes all payments; see our Privacy Policy for what Stripe sees.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.
5. Refunds
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods or unused time on a subscription. If you cancel, your Pro features continue until the end of the period you already paid for.
If something unusual happened — duplicate charge, billing error, a billing issue we caused — email support@getyve.com and we will look into it. We handle these case by case.
6. Your content and your work
You retain all rights, title, and interest in the content you upload ("Inputs") — your notes, PDFs, images, and any other materials.
You also own the outputs Yve generates for you ("Outputs") — the answers in chat, the polished rewrites, the .docx and .txt exports. To the extent we have any rights in those outputs, we assign them to you.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display your Inputs and Outputs solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account.
7. We do not train AI on your content
We do not use your Inputs or Outputs to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any AI model — ours or anyone else's.
This is not an opt-out. It is the only way we operate. The third-party AI providers we route your requests through (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, Cohere) are bound by their own commercial-API contracts not to train on the data we send them through these APIs. We do not separately license your content to anyone for training.
8. No real patient information allowed
You must not upload, paste, submit, or otherwise input any real Protected Health Information ("PHI") into Yve.
"PHI" means information that identifies an individual and relates to their physical or mental health, healthcare, or payment for healthcare. The 18 categories of PHI defined by HIPAA, with examples, are enumerated in our Acceptable Use Policy.
You warrant — meaning, you legally promise — that every Input you submit to Yve has been anonymized or is otherwise free of PHI. If we discover real PHI in your Inputs, we may remove the content, terminate your account, and (where required) report the incident.
Yve is a study tool, not a clinical tool. Use anonymized or fictional patient examples for all clinical practice.
9. Yve is not a HIPAA Business Associate
Yve is not a "Business Associate" within the meaning of HIPAA and is not authorized to receive PHI in standard consumer use. If your employer, school, or clinical site requires you to use HIPAA-covered tools for handling PHI, do not use Yve for that purpose.
Yve does not currently sign Business Associate Agreements. For institutional inquiries that may require a BAA, contact support@getyve.com — these are evaluated case-by-case.
10. Academic integrity is your responsibility
Yve helps you understand, draft, and deliver coursework. How you use Yve in the context of your institution's academic integrity policy is your responsibility.
Different schools, programs, and instructors have different rules about AI assistance. Some encourage it; some restrict it; some prohibit it for specific assignments. You are responsible for knowing and following your institution's rules. Yve does not enforce them on your behalf and is not responsible for any academic discipline that results from your use of the Service.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that defects will be corrected.
Yve's outputs can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. AI systems make mistakes. They may misinterpret your notes, invent facts that sound plausible, miscount dosages, or misstate procedures. You are responsible for verifying any clinical, medical, legal, financial, or other consequential information against authoritative sources before relying on it.
Yve does not provide professional advice of any kind. Nothing Yve produces — answers, drafts, summaries, polished text, citations — is medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or any other professional advice. For decisions that require professional judgment, consult a qualified licensed professional.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither Yve nor Jobos Technologies LLC will be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or substitute goods or services — arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If you are in one of those jurisdictions, some of the above limitations may not apply to you, and our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jobos Technologies LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use or misuse of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, (c) your violation of any third party's rights, or (d) your submission of PHI or any other prohibited content to the Service.
14. Termination
By you. You can close your account at any time from your settings or by emailing support@getyve.com. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data after account closure.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if your use creates a risk to other users or to Yve, or if required by law. Where practical, we will give you notice and an opportunity to cure. For severe violations (uploading PHI, fraud, harassment) we may terminate immediately without notice.
15. Governing law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
16. Arbitration and class action waiver
Read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.
You and Yve agree to resolve any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service through binding individual arbitration, rather than in court. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in New Jersey or, at your option, by telephone or video.
You and Yve agree that any dispute will be brought in an individual capacity only, not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, consolidated, or representative proceeding. You and Yve waive any right to a jury trial.
Opt-out right. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to support@getyve.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. The notice must include your name, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and Yve consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring a small-claims action in a court of competent jurisdiction for disputes within the scope of small-claims court. Either party may also seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property infringement, breach of confidentiality, or violation of the Acceptable Use Policy.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes that affect your rights or obligations, we will email registered users at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Other provisions
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Yve regarding the Service. They replace any prior agreements.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
