Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
The short version
- We collect what we need to give you Yve — your account info, the notes and files you upload, the questions you ask, and payment info if you pay.
- We do not train AI models on your inputs or outputs. Your work is yours. We use it to give you answers, not to teach our systems.
- We use third-party services to make Yve work (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, Cohere, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Vercel, Inngest). We list each below.
- We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we purge it 30 days later.
- You can ask us to show, export, or delete your data at any time. Email us at support@getyve.com.
1. Who we are
Yve is operated by Jobos Technologies LLC, a limited liability company based in New Jersey, United States ("Yve," "we," "us," "our"). When you use Yve at getyve.com, this Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information.
If you have questions about this policy or your data, email support@getyve.com.
2. What we collect
Account information
Your email address, name, and password (stored hashed). If you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier those providers return.
Profile information
Optional: your school, program, and expected graduation date. You provide this during onboarding to help Yve tailor responses. You can leave it blank or remove it later.
Content you upload
Notes, PDFs, images, and other course materials you upload to your subjects. These are stored privately and used to generate answers to your questions. We do not share them. We never train AI models on them.
Conversations and questions
The chat messages, scan results, and humanizer (Polish) inputs and outputs you produce. Same treatment as content: private, not shared, not used for training.
Usage data
How many messages you send, how many PDFs you upload, how many scans you submit, the cost we incur per query. We use this for billing, plan enforcement, and to make sure Yve stays fast.
Payment information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe handles your card details. We see only the last four digits and the billing country. We never see or store your full card number.
Technical data
Browser, device type, IP address, and session timestamps — standard data web services collect to keep accounts secure and diagnose problems.
3. How we use your data
- To run Yve and give you the answers, exports, and features you ask for.
- To bill you correctly and process payments.
- To send you transactional emails (trial reminders, payment receipts, account notices).
- To send you product emails (new features, tips) — but only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To detect abuse and protect Yve from spam, fraud, and security threats.
- To improve Yve's reliability and performance by analyzing aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
4. What we do not do with your data
We do not train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any AI model using your inputs or your outputs.
Your notes, your questions, the answers Yve gives you, and your Polish drafts are not used as training data — not by us, and not (per their respective contracts and APIs) by the third-party AI providers we route requests through. This is not an opt-out. It is the default and only treatment.
We also do not sell your data to anyone. Ever.
5. Third parties we work with
To run Yve, we use the following service providers. Each processes specific parts of your data in service of a specific function. Each has its own privacy practices that you can read on their site.
| Service | What it does | Data it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Gemini) | Generates chat answers and reads scanned images. | Your questions, the relevant chunks of your notes, scanned image bytes. |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Powers the Polish feature. | The text you submit to Polish. |
| OpenAI | Generates embedding vectors for retrieval (text-embedding-3-large). | Text from your uploaded materials. |
| Cohere | Reranks retrieved chunks for relevance. | Your question and retrieved note chunks. |
| Supabase | Database, file storage, and authentication. | Everything stored: account, content, conversations. |
| Stripe | Subscription billing and payments. | Your payment details and billing address. |
| Resend | Sends transactional and product emails. | Your email address and message content. |
| Vercel | Hosts the Yve website and runs the server code. | Standard request data (IP, browser). |
| Inngest | Runs background jobs like file embedding and email reminders. | Job-specific data (e.g., a file ID to process). |
We periodically review and update this list. If we add or remove a service, we will update this policy.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your account data, uploaded materials, and conversations for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account, we begin a 30-day purge. After 30 days, your account data, conversations, and account-tied metadata are deleted from our active systems. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 additional days before being purged from those backups too.
Uploaded source materials (PDFs, images you scanned) are kept in your account storage as long as you keep your account, so you can re-download them whenever you need. They follow the same deletion timeline above when you delete your account.
We also auto-delete uploaded materials after 90 days of account inactivity. We send a warning email 7 days before the deletion so you can sign in and keep your files if you want them.
Payment records, billing statements, and audit logs are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).
7. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: request a copy of the data we have about you.
- Export: download your uploaded materials and conversations in a standard format.
- Correct: update inaccurate personal information.
- Delete: close your account and trigger the 30-day purge.
- Opt out of marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any product email or update your settings. Transactional emails (billing, account security) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@getyve.com from your account email. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children
Yve is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us at support@getyve.com and we will investigate and delete the account.
9. International users
Yve is operated from the United States. Our infrastructure runs in U.S. data centers (us-east-1). If you use Yve from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
10. Security
We use industry-standard practices: encrypted transport (HTTPS) for everything, encrypted storage at rest for files and database content, hashed passwords, row-level access controls so users can only ever see their own data. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you and your jurisdiction's regulators as required by law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Yve changes. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes (new categories of data collected, new third parties, changes to retention) we will email registered users at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
12. Contact
Questions, requests, complaints: email support@getyve.com.
Mailing address: Jobos Technologies LLC, New Jersey, United States. We will provide a specific street address on request.
